On Thursday, August 15, 2019, our group member Sabina Islam defended her doctoral thesis titled “Revisiting the colloidal fundamentals of ionic polymers for engineering of dispersions and nanocoatings with tailored properties.” Sabina joined the group in 2015, and she has worked on multiple projects funded by Eastman, advised multiple undergrad researchers, and represented the Velev group in multiple outreach activities to get high school kids interested in engineering! She has definitely contributed to the collaborative culture our group has, and we are thrilled for her success!
