Future D.E. Students

Students and professionals in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering distance program have the opportunity to pursue an online Master of Science degree to help strengthen and build on their chemical engineering foundations.

Our online program offers flexibility for off-campus students to earn a master’s degree in three to five years.

Forge Your Next Career Path

The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering distance education program is designed for students ranging from professionals looking to enhance their positions, improve job performance and acquiring Professional Engineer licenses to non-chemical engineering individuals who want to make a career change. Wherever our students come from, we’re here to take their skills to the next level on their own time.

All courses are taught by full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty, including five of NC State’s 23 National Academies members. Classes are structured around recordings of lectures from faculty members to on-campus students and are provided as CD-roms or web streams.

Starting this Fall, prepare for graduate study with a new two-semester sequence of online “bridge” courses — Core ChE Concepts: I and II. The courses are designed for students with STEM backgrounds who are interested in graduate study in chemical engineering, and for professionals who need to learn and reinforce ChE principles for their work.
