Celebrating our 2022 Summer and Fall Graduates

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering awarded 27 B.S. degrees, 27 M.S. degrees and 15 Ph.D. degrees at a ceremony on December 16, 2022, in the James B. Hunt Hr. Library. Distinguished Professor and CBE Department Head Sindee Simon provided the welcome and handed graduates their diplomas. Professor Lisa Bullard, the Director of Undergraduate Studies, led an “open mic” session where students had the opportunity to reflect on their time and experiences as students at NC State and thank their loved ones for the support they received over the years. About NC State’s 2022 Commencement

This December, NC State awarded 3,653 degrees during the fall commencement ceremony, up from about 3,400 fall graduates in 2021. The graduates came to NC State from 56 countries and 37 U.S. states, and they range in age from 19 to 67.

The fall 2022 graduating class also includes 441 first-generation college graduates. For these graduating students, their achievement carries special significance — not just for them, but for their families as well.

NC State is graduating more students each year than at any time in the university’s history — all while boasting a six-year graduation rate that’s 21 percentage points higher than the national average.
