Khan Group 97th ACS Colloid and Surface Science Symposium

The Khan Group at the 97th ACS Colloid and Surface Science Symposium

Mariam, Prottasha, Himendra, and Pallav successfully presented their research at the 97th ACS Colloid and Surface Science Symposium, which took place at NC State University from June 4th to 7th, 2023. Pallav delivered an engaging talk on “Slip-induced solid lubrication and friction reduction on polymeric surfaces,” focusing on the intriguing topic of how slip can lead to solid lubrication and ultimately reduce friction on polymeric surfaces. In addition, Pallav presented another interesting study titled “Isothermal titration calorimetry reveals entropy-driven bisphenol A epoxy resin adhesion to metal oxide surfaces,” shedding light on the adhesion mechanisms between bisphenol A epoxy resin and metal oxide surfaces, emphasizing the role of entropy in the process.

Prottasha, on the other hand, captivated the audience with her presentation titled “Understanding the interaction between pH-responsive Collagen and Tannic Acid particles via Rheology and Thermodynamics.” Her research delved into the complex interaction between pH-responsive Collagen and Tannic Acid particles, investigating the phenomena through rheology and thermodynamics. Congratulations to all of them on their outstanding achievements!
