Barbara is from Brazil, where she got her B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemical Engineering. She moved to Raleigh in August 2014 to join the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Ph.D. program at NC State. Since joining the Khan group, she has being working with rheology and tribology of multicomponent complex systems with different polymers, and with nanofibrous polymeric coatings for crop protection.
Dr. Farias defended her thesis in March 2020 and is currently working at BASF as a Formulation Lab Chemist.
