Laura won the International Society for Extremophiles Poster Award for her poster “New Developments in Caldi World: Genomics, Pan-Genomics, and MetaGenomics of the Extremely Thermophilic Genus Caldicellulosiruptor“.

Andrew Loder and Garrett Wheaton presented their talks, “Extreme Thermophile Metabolic Engineering Platforms: Production of Biofuels and Bio-based Chemicals at Elevated Temperatures” and “Extreme thermoacidophiles as biocatalysts for heavy metal recovery: A delicate balance between biooxidation and resistance” respectively, at the 251st American Chemical Society National Meeting & Exposition in San Diego, California.
